Dubbed the "Disco Kit, this kit's design imitates the refracted light from a disco ball, reflective of a little-known piece of Louisville history.
Louisville, Ky., is home to the disco ball. A Louisville business, Omega Mirror Products, is the leading manufacturer of them worldwide. In the 1970s, at the height of the disco craze, Omega manufactured around 90% of the world's disco balls at its facility on Baxter Avenue.
The kit's design is inspired by this history. It features a black field, with lavender, mint and green fragments, which replicate the reflective pattern of the mirror-covered ball. The Racing crest is featured in white, with white trim on the sleeves and neckline. The uniform includes black shorts and socks, with white numerals and trim.
The kit also pays homage to Louisville's disco history with a jock tag which reads, "Made in Looavul" — utilizing a phonetic spelling representative of how many native Louisvillians pronounce the name of their city.
